-This error can happen when trying to “edit template” in template builder from Document Action.
How to resolve:
Check the fields security and make sure they were not removed. Once they are back in, you should be able to continue using the app. You can also check that this user has access to document action object by going to Setup > Security Controls > Sharing Settings > Document Action. Make sure it is not set to “Private” and instead set to “Public Read/Write” for all users to be able to access object and generate documents.
